Q. Can I enter in more than one class at Nationals?
A. No, only one class per competitor at the Championships. If you would like to donate more money to the charities you can do so at the event. However, at the
Exhibition Show Friday Nov 1 you may enter as many divisions as you like.

Q. Is the event all ages?
A. Yes, the event is all ages. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Q. Will there be an entry fee to compete in the Exhibition/Amateur competition on Nov 1?
A. We have a $5 suggested fee for competitors on Nov 1. Competitors may enter as many divisions as they like.

Q. Will there be ticket sales for spectators at any of these events?
A. There will be no ticket sales or entry fees for the Oct 31st pub crawl. Starting at 6pm on Nov 1 we will be offering a $10 suggested donation spectator ticket that will be good for Friday Night and all-day Saturday. There are no pre-sale spectator tickets.

Q. It says “Beard Chain”. Will you be going for the world records in Moustache chain, Partial beard chain, and Craft Beard chain as well?
A. Yes, we will be
attempting world records for all 4 divisions.

Q. What is the difference between a category and a class?
A. For the sake of these competitions, there are 4 categories of facial hair: Moustache, Partial Beard, Craft Beard, and Full Beard. Under each of those banners are the different divisions, or CLASSES. For example: The Garibaldi class is in the Full Beard Category.

Q. What is the Exhibition/Amateur contest all about?
A. This is like a preview of the main event, especially for people who have never witnessed a beard competition. The divisions will be more fun and the overall vive is less serious. It is a great entry-level event to get anyone warmed up for being on the stage at Nationals.

Q. Do I need to be in a Beard and Moustache Club or Group in order to compete?
A. No, no club affiliation is necessary!

Q. Do I need to qualify in a regional or local competition in order to compete at Nationals?
A. The NBMC is currently set up in a way where anyone can compete, regardless of stats or competition record. In fact, the NBMC was the first competition for many current and former National Champions!

Q. Will the event be streamed live?
A. We are figuring that out now but the plan is to stream the event on our
twitch and youtube channels.

Q. Are competitors supposed to show up fully styled, or is witnessing the styling process part of the competition?
A. Witnessing the process is not part of the competition. Most competitors show up prepared or partially prepared, just enough to easily complete their look in the provided styling/dressing rooms.

Q. Will there be dressing rooms or areas there to get ready, and if so how far in advance of the competition will they be available?
A.
Dressing rooms will be available at 9am when doors open and will remain open for the remainder of the event.

Q.  Can our assistant join us backstage, and will they need to purchase a competitor ticket as well?
A. An assistant can join you and they do not need to purchase a competitor ticket unless they are competing, but they will need to have a spectator ticket.

Q. How long does the competition usually last?
A. It’s an all day affair! We’ll post a loose category schedule a few days before the event, but everyone should plan on the event running early. ALL COMPETITORS NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE CATEGORY/CLASS ON STAGE AS TO NOT MISS THEIR TIME TO COMPETE!
